ABOUT THE EVENT
Dates: February 16th & 17th, 2019 (Presidents Day Weekend), @ The Rock at Morro Bay
This is a Two-Day Coalition Sanctioned Event.
Day 1 – Saturday, Feb. 16th – First Round Preliminary Heats, 1st heat 6:45 AM
Day 2 – Sunday, Feb. 17th – Round 2 heats start at 6:45 AM followed by Semis as required, then Final for each division.
This event includes Longboard, Shortboard, and Stand Up Paddle divisions.
Due to the dangerous nature of the break, the Menehune Division (Girls and Boys 11 and Under) and Groms Divisions (Girls and Boys 13 and Under) may not be counted toward Team Points.
A Complete Team of competitors that count for Team Points consists of:
One (1) competitor each for Menehune and Groms (unless otherwise posted on the day of the event as noted above), Masters Women 50+, Senior Legends, and SUP Divisions.
Two (2) competitors each for all other Divisions.
DOGMEAT Division does NOT count for Team Points.
The party on Saturday evening will include BBQ dinner and is included in the entry fee for the contestants. Additional tickets can be purchased for a nominal fee. The party will be held within walking distance of the Rock at the Veterans Hall.
There will be NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING AT THE ROCK, overnight camping will be available near the Veterans Hall (site of the party on Saturday night), the site is a few minutes walk to the Rock. The cost is $50.00 per campsite for camping up to 3 nights: Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Pre-registration is required so contact the Contest Director if you are interested.
ABOUT THE CLUB
A loose knit group of central coast watermen with just about every personality defect in the book. These misfits gather annually in the dead of winter at “the Rock” in Morro Bay to charge harrowing conditions – and they call this fun. After this event, most slip back into surfing’s shadows until called upon to volunteer for various water based charities for which they always show up in mass.
